Andean souls knitting dreams

“The higher we are placed, the more humble we should be.”

– Potosí – Bolivia (12,024 ft) above sea level

over the mountains and far away

After a long trip in the middle of nowhere, we found humble communities in Potosí Bolivia where they have been breeding cattle, processing fibers and knitting works of art for generations in harmony with the environment and their local fauna, full of Alpacas, Llamas and Vicuñas.

Small communities proud of their culture and committed to keep it alive

For generations these communities in the Andes have been mastering their craft and producing high quality handmade clothing and accessories for their own people, and tourist. However, after a very rough year without visitors and tourists because of COVID 19, these communities are in a need to reinvent themselves and expand their markets, thus avoiding the flee of their new generations to big cities, where their millenary culture, traditions and craft are in danger of disappearing forever, as well as their small communities that little by little are turning into ghost towns.
